There was a time, long, long ago, when I used to post regularly to my blog. What happened? Did I fall of the face of the Earth, lose interest, find other ways to express myself? Don't I love spewing my opinionated bits into the blogosphere?
I guess the most straightforward explanation is that I've been off having a life. Yes, as heretical as it sounds, there are things out here in hard coded Reality that can be more compelling than electronic soap boxing.
Have I lost interest? There are plenty of things drawing my interest right now. The writing conference I attended during the July holiday was inspiring and fun. I'm finally doing some deliberate work on a story, though it's slow going.
I've also been grooving on reruns of "Veronica Mars." I didn't catch it in first run, but I'll definitely make a point of seeing the second season this fall. Like Buffy, this show is set around the dramas of high school, though there isn't a vamp or (non-human) demon in sight. Add to that an ongoing and weekly mystery storyline, and that's some good TV.
Of course, one of the best things to do instead of sitting in front of the laptop is to get the heck OUT - outside, out with friends, out of one's normal routine - just out. No matter how long I live in the Bay Area, I'm still amazed by and revel in the beautiful weather and environment. Late afternoon fog, the smell of flowers in the morning, driving with the sunroof open, sitting at a sidewalk cafe - life's good.
So anyway, I'll continue to post when I have something to share, but may just decide to kick back and enjoy the sunshine instead. You never know.
